Monday 3rd – Friday 7th August at 7 pm will be our “Expedition Force” holiday club for all primary school aged children! Kids will enjoy crafts, snacks, games, music, fun, stories, and more! Every night will end at 8:30 pm. Come along and enjoy a wilderness adventure as we learn more about the Jesus’ last week on earth!
We note with sorrow the death of Margaret McGowan, 2 Glen Carron – funeral is at Claremont on Monday, 27th July at noon, then to Philipshill Cemetery for 1 pm.

The monthly Prayer Diary
is included with the update on the last Sunday of every month, and also available on tables in the vestibule. The prayer diary team would appreciate any items for prayer. These can be handed to Myra (Goodwin), Christine (Knox) or Hannah (Shanks). There is also a pigeon hole in the Elders room where you can leave a contribution anonymously if you prefer OR contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
God hears our prayers and does answer them. Pray without ceasing.
Summer pattern for evening services will be:
Sunday 26th July is a Joint Service at Calderwood Baptist
Sundays 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd August will be Joint Services at Claremont and
Sunday 30th August will be “Last Sunday at 7” at Calderwood Baptist Church.

Andy MacArthur –
Andy has confirmed that he has a new job as a youth worker with Harvest Fellowship who are based in Hillhouse, Hamilton. He starts in that post August 2nd.
We’ve prepared a pamphlet to handout to our community. So if you enjoy walking for exercise, please come by the church on Monday and Tuesday at 2pm and walk with a purpose!! We can use your help as we would like to get as much information about our church out there as is possible!
Holiday Club Decorations:
Still looking for chairs, and fake Christmas trees! So please bring some! They will be returned to you unharmed.
We will have one last holiday club meeting on Wednesday 29 July at 7:30 pm!!’ Please if you are helping with holiday club be there!
Holiday Club part 2!
Friday 31st July we will be decorating the church for holiday club! So if you have an eye for detail and enjoy decorating. Or camping come help us please!
We need more volunteers on Monday mornings to help prepare the food bags for distribution. If you are interested in helping in this way once every few weeks please contact Helen Morton or Maureen Thomson.
The families of Stuart Love and Ruth Joy Palmer are delighted to invite their friends at Claremont to their wedding here at the church on Saturday 8th August 2015 at 2 pm. The cutting of the cake and speeches will take place after the ceremony, followed by tea, coffee and cake for everyone.
Saturday Coffee Morning Rota:
The new rota 2015/2016 for the coffee mornings on a Saturday is now on the Notice Board. The coffee mornings are a meeting place especially for those who are housebound and they look forward to meeting others on a Saturday morning. Not only are the coffee mornings an opportunity to meet with others they are also a valuable source of income for the church so in order to keep them going it is imperative to get everyone to fill in a date.
Safeguarding Training Volunteers:
A volunteers/introductory event has been organised for Wednesday 26 August 7-10 pm at Mossneuk Church. Anyone interested in attending please speak to Moraig Drumgold or Mary McKinlay.
Beatson Cancer Charity:
Martin Russell’s son, Stuart, is again attempting a number of cycle challenges this year with his friends in Whitelee Warriors, including the Etape Caledonia (81 miles in Perthshire including Schiehallion), The Flying Scotsman Sportive 2015 (Graeme Obree – 77 miles in Ayrshire), Pedal for Scotland (Glasgow to Edinburgh, 110 Miles) and the Bealach na Ba (Pass of the Cattle) – a climb that takes you from sea level to over 2,000 feet in 5 miles. He would again be grateful for any sponsorship in aid of the Beatson Cancer Charity – please see Martin Russell on Sundays.
Girls’ Night Out:
Hamilton Baptist Church, 23 Kemp Street, Hamilton on 12 September 2015 at 7.30 pm. ‘Early Bird’ ticket (before 12 August) costs £5, Standard ticket £7 or £10 at the door.
