The monthly Prayer Diary
is included with the update on the last Sunday of every month, and also available on tables in the vestibule. The prayer diary team would appreciate any items for prayer. These can be handed to Myra (Goodwin), Christine (Knox) or Hannah (Shanks). There is also a pigeon hole in the Elders room where you can leave a contribution anonymously if you prefer OR contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
God hears our prayers and does answer them. Pray without ceasing.

Summer pattern for evening services will be:
Sundays 9th, 16th and 23rd August will be Joint Services at Claremont and
Sunday 30th August will be “Last Sunday at 7” at Calderwood Baptist Church.

our previous minister has been working as ‘Interim Minister’ which means a series of short term posts (usually 18 months to 2 years) in different congregations. John has finished his time in Mull & Iona and is going to be interim minister in the linked charges of Coatbridge: Middle linked with Blairhill Dundyvan. There is a service of introduction for John at Blairhill Dundyvan on Thursday 13th August at 7pm which anyone wishing to support John in this way is welcome to attend.
School Chaplains & Cakes:
We are extending hospitality to the staffs at Calderglen and Sanderson High Schools by the chaplains hosting the morning interval and providing cakes from local congregations on Friday 14th August. If you can help by providing some baking to go to the school please contact the office (238088) to let us know. Cakes can be handed in to the office.
A meeting of committee members will be held on Tuesday 18 August at 2 pm in the Sawers Room
Safeguarding Training Volunteers:
A volunteers/introductory event has been organised for Wednesday 26 August 7-10 pm at Mossneuk Church. Anyone interested in attending please speak to Moraig Drumgold or Mary McKinlay.
Saturday Coffee Morning Rota:
The new rota 2015/2016 for the coffee mornings on a Saturday is now on the Notice Board. The coffee mornings are a meeting place especially for those who are housebound and they look forward to meeting others on a Saturday morning. Not only are the coffee mornings an opportunity to meet with others they are also a valuable source of income for the church so in order to keep them going it is imperative to get everyone to fill in a date.
Safe Families Needs You:
A church movement to care for children whose own families are going through a hard time. Could you host a child for a while to take pressure off parents, befriend a family in need to stop a crisis getting out of hand, give practical help with basic items? Safe Families for Children are starting in the Glasgow area and looking for volunteers. An information evening is on Thursday 20th August, 7.30 pm at Connect House, 42 Hollowglen Rd, G32 0DP. More information from Mhairi Philipson who is able to provide transport on the night to anyone interested in finding out more.

to Helen Marriott our friend and neighbour for delivering the church flowers. They were lovely. To Anna and John Weir, also Myra Goodwin grateful thanks for all your help given to us recently, it was much appreciated.
