is included with the update on the last Sunday of every month, and also available on tables in the vestibule. The prayer diary team would appreciate any items for prayer. These can be handed to Myra (Goodwin), Christine (Knox) or Hannah (Shanks). There is also a pigeon hole in the Elders room where you can leave a contribution anonymously if you prefer OR contact us at email@example.com. God hears our prayers and does answer them. Pray without ceasing.

WHAT CAN I SAY?
A massive thank-you to all involved, for the generous and kind way you noted my birthday last week. Thanks to those involved in planning, preparing & serving food, setting up the hall etc; thanks to all who were able to attend; thanks to those who made a contribution to what was a staggeringly generous gift. I was both gobsmacked and humbled! (and now thinking… “Should I stay on until I am 70?”) Genuinely – you are wonderful. Bless you, from Gordon.
The August issue of the congregational magazine is now available.
Hall Let Forms:
Hall let forms for 2017/18 should be completed and returned as soon as possible to Margaret Robb. Thank you
Coffee Morning 12th August:
The McLaren family are hosting the coffee morning on 12th August to help raise funds to buy an electric wheelchair for a young man, David Hood (Jenni’s younger brother). David has a degenerative illness making him more reliant on a wheelchair. A motorised wheelchair would allow him to keep more independence. Any donations of baking or raffle prizes will be gratefully received. Tickets available after the service today and next week.
Saturday Coffee Morning Rota:
The new rota 2017/2018 for the coffee mornings on a Saturday is now on the Notice Board. The coffee mornings are a meeting place especially for those who are housebound and they look forward to meeting others on a Saturday morning. Not only are the coffee mornings an opportunity to meet with others they are also a valuable source of income for the church so in order to keep them going it is imperative to get everyone to fill in a date.
Seeing Children through the eyes of God… Letting our view of children reshape our hope for the words and our understanding of the kingdom of God.
A conference on Saturday 12th August at Craiglockhart Parish Church, Craiglockhart Drive North, Edinburgh, EH14 1HS. Time: 10.30am-3.30pm.
Led by Beth Barnett, this conference will explore who children are in relation to our cultures, our theologies, our faith communities, our faith practices and importantly asks questions about the place of children in the purposes of God – as participants in the mission of God; as agents in creating communities of faith; as vulnerable yet strong forces in our lives. We will explore some of the principles and practical ways that churches can redefine the place of children in their own midst and prophetically for society. Mhairi Phillipson is planning to attend. Contact Mhairi if you would like more information or would like to attend: firstname.lastname@example.org
