Flower Fund:
We would like to thank people for their generosity in donating flowers Sunday by Sunday. There is a Flower Box in the vestibule which accepts any spare coins you may have which contributes to the Flower Fund.
We are often asked by donators how much the weekly donation should be. We would suggest between £25 and £30 which is a good estimate. The 2019 Flower List is on the notice board in the corridor. Anne Jones will be looking after the Flower Fund. All flower money should be given to her from January please.

Food Bank Christmas Hampers: We are once again hoping to provide a Christmas Meal hamper to our Food Bank users. Please consider donating to this appeal – a list of suggested items is available in the foyer. If you would prefer you can donate online; www.justgiving.com/campaign/EKfoodbankChristmashampers. As always your continued support to the food bank is very much appreciated. Last day for donations 16 December.

Claremont Congregation’s Big Christmas Card:
The opportunity to post a greeting to others at Claremont on the card in the vestibule. It should save you money by not having to send cards to all your friends at Claremont, and if you wish, that saving can be donated in the box beside the card. This year, proceeds are going to the Ukrainian Children’s Orphanage.

Carol Singing:
Please come and join us outside St. Leonards Tesco on Saturday 15th December 10am-noon for carol singing. Volunteers, please give your name to Ali. Meeting at the church at 10am and will probably wrap up around 12pm. Still looking for a musician (or two) to play for it as well.

Christian Aid Can Collection: Sainsbury’s Store – Kingsgate Retail Park:
The East Kilbride Christian Aid Committee has been invited to carry out a can collection at the Sainsbury’s Kingsgate store on Friday 14th December between 11.00 – 16.00. We are looking for volunteers to help cover the day. If you can help even for a short period, can you let Joan Thomson know and I will arrange to forward your details to the organisers. (01355 238100 or joan-thomson@btconnect.com).

Fair Trade Stall:
Fairly traded, handmade crafts, Christmas gifts and decorations – a good way to do some Christmas shopping. Please see Kathryn McLaren on Sunday morning 9th of December in the foyer.

Hi Claremont friends!
Just a quick email to make you aware / remind you that Calderwood Baptist will be hosting a Tearfund Christmas Concert on Friday 14th December at 7.30pm. Tickets are £6 and available either from Hunter House Coffee Shop, online at www.calderwoodbaptist.co.uk or from the Tearfund eventbrite page. Tickets will also be available at the door but it really helps us with planning if people can buy them in advance. The line-up for the concert is Yvonne and David Lyon, Ellyn Oliver and Steph McLeod so it will be a fantastic musical evening and a great opportunity to raise funds for Tearfund. If you don’t have any plans for 14th December it would be great to see you there. Please feel free to forward these details to all your contacts you think will be interested and if it could be announced in your church this Sunday that would be great. Many thanks! God bless, Russell

Nativity Service – 23rd December:
Our Nativity Service will be taking place on 23rd December. As per last year, this year’s nativity is a ‘no-rehearsal’ nativity, and therefore, we would love for as many people in the church as want to (both children and adults!) to come dressed as a character for the nativity! We are looking specifically for: Mary, Joseph, donkeys, shepherds, sheep, angles, a star (or two) and some wise men. Part of the beauty of the no-rehearsal nativity is that we can have more than one of each character, so do feel free to dress up and to join in the nativity story! If you have any questions please contact Ali (alasdair@claremontparishchurch.co.uk or 07763112600).

Holiday Club 2019:
We are starting to look at preparing towards our holiday club for summer 2019. This might seem like a long way away, but we do need to begin putting plans in place in order to make Space Academy 2019 as successful (and hopefully more so) than our previous holiday clubs. Given the great response and enthusiasm towards our holiday club from schools and families in the area, our team for 2018 was operating at capacity, with around 50-60 young people attending each day. In expectation of even greater numbers this coming year, we are hoping to see an increase in the number of people on the team in order to allow us to welcome even more children! We realise that not everyone is comfortable working with children directly, therefore, if you feel that you could help at holiday club by being involved in the registration of the children or making up the snacks for each day or indeed, being a group leader/team helper then please do contact Ali Scott (alasdair@claremontparishchurch.co.uk or 07763112600). If you have any questions about what any of these things would look like or what would be expected of you then please do get in touch.

Bubblegum and Fluff:
Monday 10th December: We are looking for some volunteers to help out at Bubblegum and Fluff during the afternoon of Monday 10th December. Blacklaw Primary School will be coming to the church to hear about the Christmas story and we need a number of people to be available in order to help at the various activities/stations which will be set up as part of the event. If you can help then please contact Ali Scott (alasdair@claremontparishchurch.co.uk or 07763112600).
