Please note:
The funeral of George Horn of Glen Mallie will take place on Monday 13th May at the Co-op Funeral Home for 12 noon then on to East Kilbride Cemetery for 12.45.

Big Brekkie for Christian Aid:
Once again, come and join us for a Big Brekkie to start Christian Aid week. Rolls and sausage & bacon along with other treats will be served after the morning service on Sunday 12th May to launch Christian Aid week. Please lend your support to this worthwhile cause and enjoy the fellowship of breakfast and a cuppa after the service.

Boys Brigade Anniversary Dinner:
To conclude our Anniversary events, a Dinner will take place at Torrance House Golf Club on Friday, 31st May at 7.30. Tickets cost £20 and can be obtained from Ian Harrow or any BB Officer. The guest speaker will be Mr. Jim McVean, Secretary of Glasgow Battalion who has been a good friend of the Company over recent years.

Flower arrangers:
Please consider joining the arranging team as our numbers are becoming more diminished. This would entail going to buy the flowers and arranging them for Sunday mornings service when it was your turn on the rota. We usually do this on Saturday mornings. If you think you could help us please speak to either Anne Jones or Elissa Leatham.

Healing Hour Service:
Will take place on Thursday 16th of May in the Williams Room at 7.00pm. Guest speakers are Ron & Anne Watkins from East Mains Baptist Church Healing Rooms. Davy Jones will be providing the music for our service.

Christian Aid Week – 12th to 18th May
Door to Door Collection Packs: Thank you to everyone who has offered to help with this year’s door to door collection for Christian Aid. Collectors’ packs are ready for collection on the table at the back of the sanctuary. Please ensure that you take your Christian Aid ID with you when you go to collect the envelopes. Can you return your bags to Joan Thomson either on Sunday 19th May or bring them along to the Church on Wednesday the 22nd May at 7pm when we will be counting the monies received. Thank you all for your help. Please note the change of day for the count.
Christian Aid Envelopes:
As it is impossible to cover the whole of the parish by door to door collections for Christian Aid, we’ve included donation envelopes inside this week’s update. If you wish to give a donation, please return your envelope to the church on Sunday 19th May. A Christian Aid bag will be available to receive your donations, on the table with the collection plates as you enter the church. I have left a supply of envelopes on the table at the back of the Sanctuary should you wish to take extra envelopes for friends and family. Or see me after church and I will be delighted to provide any extra envelopes you may require. The provision of the envelopes in the church update has proved very successful in past years and I hope that you will once again support this worthwhile Charity. Please keep all our collectors in your prayers during the week ahead.
Christian Aid Count:
There will be a meeting to count the donations received during Christian Aid Week on Wednesday 22nd May at the Church at 7pm. If you could spare some time to help with this then it would be gratefully received. The count should only take about an hour or so but the more volunteers we have the quicker it will be done. If you would like more information on any of these items please do not hesitate to contact Joan Thomson (01355 238100 or email
