Welcome Desk:
If you know of anyone who is in or just out of hospital or who needs an elder or staff member to call, please leave the information at the Welcome Desk. We would also appreciate suggested names to receive flowers after today’s or a forthcoming service – call at the Welcome Desk.

BELIEF AND THE BIBLE:
We know that the Bible has an important place in Christianity. But is it to be trusted? Are there problems? Is it out of date? Are there too many mistakes in it? Do we really need it? Our evening services in June will deal with at least some of these questions. The format will allow some time for questions – so come along and bring on the questions and issues and challenges. We need to sort out what we can believe and why.
Sunday 16th June Hebrew 1:1,2 and Revelation 22:18,19 “It is 2,000 years old – does God not have anything new to say?”
Sunday 23rd June Psalm 69:22-29 “The nasty bits – are these God’s Word too?”

Volunteer Drivers required:
My usual request at this time of year for volunteer drivers required for 18 June for Concert at Calderglen High School. My Senior Befrienders are VIP’s and to allow them to attend I need drivers to pick them up and return them home please. Please give names to the office. Thank you! Avril xx

Used Bookstall:
Donations of used books would be very welcome. Only fiction please.

Kilbryde Hike:
Last weekend 7 members of our BB Company competed in the 60th Anniversary Kilbryde Hike, involving hiking 30 miles over 2 days over rough terrain and completing different tasks at checkpoints along the way. It is great to report that our Junior team came 3rd and our Senior team won the overall competition by a wide margin, making up for last year’s disappointment. Well done to the boys and to Malcolm Macphee who organised and motivated the teams for the event. Thank you also to staff, past and present, for their help at our checkpoint at Langlands Moss.

Guides:
Claremont’s Guides were 50 in March! They are organising a number of celebrations of that milestone and one of these is a BARBECUE on Monday, 17th June from 7pm to 9pm to which you are all invited. Particularly ex-Guiders (whether or not at Claremont), folk who have helped out at Guides, and also anyone who can lend a hand BBQing. To help gauge numbers, if you are coming, contact Lorna Stich – 07795682886, email: chosen_and_called@hotmail.com.

Charlotte Scott:
our ministry assistant Ali Scott and his wife, Fiona are now proud parents of Charlotte who was born in the early hours of Sunday morning. A great way to celebrate Pentecost Sunday.

Saturday Coffee Morning volunteers:
Please prayerfully consider volunteering your services on a Saturday to run the coffee morning during the summer months (June to September) as our older members greatly depend on us to provide this invaluable service. If you are able, please enter your name on the coffee morning rota in the hallway near the kitchen. Generally two people are required each week. Thank you!
