Prayer

The Bible tells us to pray about everything. We know that God hears and answers our prayers. We realise that all we do as a church must be fuelled by the power of prayer and so our prayer gatherings provide an opportunity for the church to give praise to God, to seek the will of God and to call out to God on behalf of our community.

Due to a bequest left to us a few years ago, what had been the Church Vestry was turned into a Prayer Room. This room is always open whenever the Church is and is a quiet and comfortable space for people to pray and reflect. There are a number of prayer cards and helpful guides to aid you in your prayer if you wish to use them.

We also have a Book of Remembrance in the Prayer Room to remember those we have loved and whom are no longer with us. If you would like the name of a loved one to be recorded in this book, please contact our office who will be happy to assist you.

Sunday Prayer Meeting

On Sunday mornings at 9:30am, a group gather in our Prayer Room. We read a short passage of Scripture, before praying for the work of the Church, our community, and people we know who need the strength and help of God at this time. All are welcome to attend, and we’d love to see you there.

God Hears You

Finally, here are a few sentences from the Bible to encourage you to pray, knowing that God hears you and cares for you:

  • I am praying to you because I know you will answer, O God. Bend down and listen as I pray (Psalm 17:6).

  • Because he bends down and listens, I will pray as long as I have breath! (Psalm 116:2).

  • Morning, noon, and night I plead aloud in my distress, and the Lord hears my voice (Psalm 55:7).

  • Pray for the happiness of those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you (Luke 6:28).

  • Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and wonderful results (James 5:16).
